Hello! The dark nights might be drawing in, but I’m being optimistic and am starting to plan and plant for Spring. This video shows you how to make an easy bulb lasagne, essentially three different types of bulbs planted in one pot! • What a day for some hedge planting. We have got 2000 more trees to plant at Hockham Farm, to provide a home for wildlife and help improve water management. When we give the sheep a trim around lambing time we will use the shearings (known as daggings) to mulch around the trees. This helps to keep moisture in the ground and the wool adds nitrogen too. Thank you @gudrunlondon for our matchy matchy outfits. All clothes are gardening clothes in my eyes
  • Happy birthday @indiefarmer husband lol! The best person to have by your side because he is an actual ray of sunshine ☀️ (actually 80% sunshine 20% cake). We love you, have the best day, and so happy to see the sun shining on you this morning ☀️☀️☀️
  • The second post of Nige’s series on getting our hut ready for guests is out now (link in bio). We are proud of all the home made touches. The curtains were made (or maybe I should say co-ordinated and made by her friends!) by my mum from a recycled wool blanket. The sheepskin is one of ours. The beaut fold down table was made by our friend, neighbour and artist @samsamayre. And the rest picked up at the charity shops of Bexhill. We love it and hope you will too. ❤️❤️❤️
  • Our first family home was this shepherds hut. It maybe small but it’s mighty cosy, and with no electricity it forces you to slow down. I don’t entirely miss having to share our one room with a puppy, who cried for cuddles most nights. But I do miss doing not much more than just staring at the fire, and the stars you see on a late night loo trip. It’s something we are looking forward to sharing with others. Nigel is documenting how we hope to become farm hosts in a series of blogs. The link is in my bio.
  • Still some places left for these foraged wreath workshops. Drop me a DM if you’d like to know more
  • This lettuce growing out of the rubble, feels very 2020 to me. I’m taking it as a hopeful sign, that out of the rubbish, beauty always seems to find a way to bust through. Thanks lettuce
  • How to make a bulb lasagne video link in my bio. It’s 3 years old, but hey the seasons keep on rolling round. October is the perfect time to do something like this, and you’ll thank your past self in spring when these joyous flowers push their way through the soil and make you smile. And Lord knows in late February we are going to need all the smiles we can get. Enjoy! #gardeninspiration #irises #tulips #daffodils #flowers
